In a world first, CoinDeal – a cryptocurrency exchange platform founded by three Poles from Wrocław – has just sponsored English soccer team Wolverhampton Wanderers, also known as Wolves.
A CoinDeal logo will now appear on the sleeves of the team’s T-shirts, with the contract covering the upcoming 2018/19 season – in which the Wolves will again play in the top English league: the Premier League.
The CoinDeal logo was already present on the players’ shirts during the presentation of the new costumes on Wednesday, July 4th.
The presentation was also attended by a number of experts, including Adam Bicz (CEO of the platform), Kajetan Maciekowiak (CMO) and Filip Dzierżak (COO).
Maćkowiak explained that the company had entered into sponsorship, amongst other reasons, because it knows how big the impact of sports is on consumers.
“I’ve always had a passion for the world of sports and its impact on consumers,” said Maćkowiak. “At CoinDeal, we’re very aware of the impact football marketing can have on a brand and its community, especially in an industry such as ours. We believe a club like Wolverhampton Wanderers will help us portray our message globally. It’s an incredibly exciting time to be involved with Wolves, on the eve of their return to the English Premier League, and we look forward to supporting them to ensure they continue their incredible performance levels both on and off the pitch.”
CoinDeal, as one of the more resilient platforms, currently offers access to 22 cryptocurrencies including ethhereum, bitcoin and litecoin – and also offers numerous alternative currencies.
What distinguishes it the most from others, however, is the ability for users to vote on the introduction of a new cryptocurrency – if it reaches the appropriate number of votes, it’s added to the platform.
The platform isn’t registered in Poland but, rather, in Cyprus, where cryptocurrency and blockchain environments are better supported. Technically speaking, it belongs to Verified Solutions Ltd. but the company itself is registered in the UK.
As well as setting a world precedent, the agreement with CoinDeal is also of symbolic significance for Wolverhampton’s team: this is the first sponsor whose logo will be visible on the sleeve of the club’s kit. There will also be CoinDeal branding on LED boards at the Molineux Stadium in Wilków in the form of , as well as on the training equipment of both the first team and the reserve teams.
Managing Director of Wolverhampton Laurie Dalrymple joked that the platform had agreed to “slightly alter” the colours in their logo to match the colours of the Wolves’ kit, saying in a press release: ” This is a huge gesture of goodwill towards the club and its fans, and something we are very grateful for.”
Dalrymple added that he believes CoinDeal will become one of Wolverhampton’s principal partners.
